Last updated: October 22, 2026

  • Usage data: information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited and features used
  • Data you provide: data sources you connect, visualizations you create, and content you upload

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Authenticate your identity and manage your account
  • Send you product updates and tips, if you have opted in
  • Respond to your requests and provide customer support
  • Monitor and analyze usage patterns to improve user experience

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:

  • Service providers who assist in operating the platform
  • Other users within your workspace, as configured by workspace settings
  • Law enforcement when required by law or to protect our rights

4. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can delete your account at any time from your Profile page. Deletion takes effect immediately and permanently erases your profile and any organization you are the only member of, including everything stored in it. Content you created in an organization shared with other people stays with that organization. You may also request deletion by contacting us.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you, including by downloading a copy from your Profile page
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information
  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time

7. Cookies

Essential cookies. We use essential cookies to maintain your authentication session. These are necessary for the Service to function and cannot be disabled.

Optional analytics cookies. With your consent, we use Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, to understand how visitors use SlateData, such as which pages are viewed, how visitors arrive at the site, and general information about their browser, device, and approximate location. Google Analytics sets cookies whose names begin with _ga. We load Google Analytics, and these cookies are set, only after you choose "Accept analytics." SlateData does not use advertising cookies.

  • You can change your choice at any time from , also linked in the site footer. If you withdraw consent, we stop Google Analytics and delete its cookies from your browser.
  • If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a refusal and do not load Google Analytics.
  • We also keep a few preferences, such as your color scheme and your cookie choice, in your browser's local storage.

Embedded and shared charts and decks. Pages that show a SlateData chart or deck inside another website, or through a share link, do not load Google Analytics or set cookies. To know how often they are viewed, we count each view on our own servers: which chart or deck, the day, whether it was embedded, opened directly or presented, and the host name of the embedding website. These counts include no IP address or identifier. Our servers may pass the same counts to Google Analytics as page views, also without your IP address or any identifier.

Page views without analytics cookies. If you decline analytics, haven't chosen yet, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we still count the pages you open, on our own servers and without cookies: the kind of page (for example, "a deck" rather than which deck, except for public pages such as blog posts), the day, and, for the first page you open, the host name of the website that linked you here. These counts include no IP address or identifier and can't be connected to you. Our servers may pass the same counts to Google Analytics as page views, also without your IP address or any identifier.

To protect the Service from abuse, we briefly keep the IP address a request comes from, for up to a day, to limit how often it can be repeated.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
